City of Santa Clarita Press Release

Experience the Culture and Traditions of Mexico at Celebrate

Final Event of the 2026 Celebrate Series Features Live Performances, Food, Activities and More!

The City of Santa Clarita invites residents to experience the vibrant traditions, arts, music and flavors of Mexico at the final Celebrate event of the 2026 season. Celebrate Mexico will take place on Thursday, September 10, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Canyon Country Community Center (18410 Sierra Highway). Please note that this event will be on Thursday evening instead of Friday, out of respect for the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

Guests can enjoy multiple performances throughout the evening by Ballet Folklórico Ciudad Santa Clarita, Mariachi Ciudad Santa Clarita, Grupo Los Cuervos, Golden Valley High School Folklórico and Canyon High School Folklórico.

The celebration will also feature a variety of interactive activities for all ages. Attendees can conquer the mechanical bull, personalize a cantarito, design a Día de los Muertos sugar skull, style a luchador mask, create a colorful guitar and play a game of lotería. Guests can also visit La Placita to shop, play and win prizes.

Food will be available for purchase from El Chef, La Michoacana Mobile Monse and Birrieria El Patron 818.

Guests who have participated in Celebrate events throughout the year are encouraged to bring their Celebrate Passports and collect the final stamp of the 2026 season. Each passport stamp earns an entry into the Celebrate Raffle, giving participants a chance to win prizes inspired by the countries and cultures featured throughout the series. Attendees must submit their raffle entries during Celebrate Mexico. Winners will be announced and contacted following the conclusion of the Celebrate season.

Celebrate Mexico is a free and family-friendly event, and the perfect way to wrap up the Celebrate season with a final fiesta! For more information visit, SantaClartia.gov/Celebrate.
