Make Your Voice Heard, Participate in the 2026 Community Needs Assessments Survey
The City of Santa Clarita wants your input to help shape how approximately $1.4 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding is used to address housing and community development needs. Beginning September 10 through November 27, residents are encouraged to participate in the 2026 Community Needs Assessment Survey and share their feedback on the needs and priorities that matter most to our community.
Each year, the City receives approximately $1.4 million in CDBG funding, administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to primarily benefit low- and moderate-income residents. Approximately $210,000 is awarded annually to local nonprofits supporting services such as rental assistance, overnight shelter, childcare, scholarships, transportation for individuals with disabilities, mental health services and minor home repairs.
CDBG funding also supports capital improvement projects that enhance accessibility and quality of life for residents. Recent projects include improvements at Old Orchard Park, where CDBG funds helped create new ADA-compliant sidewalks and walkways, in addition to the new inclusive playground. At West Creek Park, CDBG funds supported playground improvements designed to provide greater access to recreation and play for children with all abilities.
Through the Community Needs Assessment Survey, residents can help the City identify priorities for the upcoming 2027-28 Fiscal Year. Survey results will be shared with the City Council as part of a public hearing and will help guide how CDBG funding is prioritized.
Residents are encouraged to make their voices heard by completing the Community Needs Assessment Survey, available in English and Spanish through November 27.
