Mark your calendars for the 2026 Business for Artists Conference: “Adaptability and Resilience in an Evolving Art World” taking place on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Canyon Country Community Center (18410 Sierra Highway). Created for artists, creatives and nonprofit professionals, this free event offers everything from insightful speaker sessions to countless networking opportunities curated so you can build your career in the arts. This year’s theme, “Adaptability and Resilience in an Evolving Art World,” aims to educate artists on ways to stay creative and determined as the art space changes.
Start the day with complimentary breakfast refreshments and an opportunity to connect with fellow attendees before diving into a variety of sessions throughout the conference. Attendees can choose from sessions covering topics such as social media monetization, nonprofit leadership and job strategies that encourage participation and collaboration. Among this year’s presenters is returning speaker Erica Bristol, who will lead “Intellectual Property Basics,” as well as first-time Business for Artists Conference presenter, Mims, who will lead “From Art Project to Living Ecosystem: Building Sustainable Creative Practices.”
In addition, “The Art of Opportunity” lunch reception will inform participants about current opportunities creatives should know about. There will be an option to purchase a box lunch through local non-profit, Arts for Santa Clarita, that includes an entrée, chocolate chip cookies, kettle chips and a variety of beverage options. Proceeds from lunch purchases will help support future art advocacy, community programming and creative initiatives throughout Santa Clarita.
The conference will wrap up with a social hour presented by Arts for Santa Clarita where you can network and engage with fellow attendees. In addition, a special performance of “Un-fitted” directed by Ilse Castro Corona will take place at the center’s gymnasium during the social hour.
