Old Town Newhall to Shine Bright at Light Up Main Street

Annual Kickoff to the Holiday Season to Take Place November 16

Step onto Main Street in Old Town Newhall and you’ll be transported to the ultimate Winter Wonderland, complete with real snow, a chance to meet Santa and of course, tens of thousands of dazzling lights to create the perfect kickoff to the holiday season. The City of Santa Clarita is excited to welcome the community to Light Up Main Street, presented by DrinkPAK, in Old Town Newhall on Saturday, November 16, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. This Santa Clarita tradition will feature the highly anticipated Tree Lighting Ceremony, along with holiday festivities to enjoy with your family, friends and neighbors during an evening out on Main Street in the City’s premiere Arts and Entertainment District.

Join the Santa Clarita City Council on the Main Stage in front of the Santa Clarita Public Library Old Town Newhall Branch (24500 Main Street) as they lead the countdown to light up the iconic, giant Christmas tree, along with thousands of lights that will illuminate Main Street and transform Old Town Newhall into a holiday wonderland at 5:30 p.m. Following the tree lighting, make sure to stop at Veterans Historical Plaza (24275 N. Walnut Street) to experience another special tree paying homage to our Veterans and active-duty military.

In addition to the glistening lights and the Tree Lighting Ceremony, attendees can also enjoy live entertainment and various acts on the Main Stage throughout the event, from carolers to show choirs, with the full schedule as follows:

  • 4:00 – 4:20 p.m.: Castaic USD Carolers
  • 4:25 – 4:55 p.m.: Innovative Show Choir
  • 5:00 – 5:15 p.m.: Canyon Theatre Guild
