Know Before You Go: Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival

The City of Santa Clarita’s 30th Anniversary Cowboy Festival Kicks off this weekend! William S. Hart Park is transformed into a scene straight out of a western film on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This beloved, free community event promises a weekend filled with live entertainment, Western heritage and family-friendly fun. To help guests make the most of their experience, the City encourages attendees to review important festival information before heading out.

This milestone celebration will feature over 15 performers across three stages.
      Mane Stage presented by Aspire Fiber:

  • Jayden Secor, 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
  • Regina Ferguson, 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
  • Dani Rose, 2:45 – 3:45 p.m.
  • Olivia Harms, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

The Whistle Stop Stage:

  • The Messick Family Singers, 11:00 – 11:45 a.m.
  • Midnight Cowgirls, 12:15 – 1:00 p.m.
  • Sam Platts and the Plainsmen, 1:30 – 2:15 p.m.
  • The Doohickeys, 2:45 – 3:30 p.m.
  • Jenny Don’t and The Spurs, 4:00 – 4:45 p.m.

Hart Hall:

  • Doug Figgs, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m.
  • Sourdough Slim & Robert Armstrong, 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Joni Harms, 1:00 – 1:45 p.m.
  • Andy Hedges, 2:15 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Kristyn Harris, 3:30 – 4:15 p.m.
  • Dave Stamey, 4:45 – 5:30 p.m.

Guest will be surrounded by interactive experiences and immersive attractions that bring the Old West to life throughout the weekend. Make sure to check out the Living History Demonstrations including chuck wagons, blacksmiths, cowboys and experience life at the cattle camp.

Hit the dance floor and enjoy line dancing at the Horseshoe Honky Tonk, test your physical skills with archery and axe throwing at The Range or hop on the mechanical bull for a wild ride! Looking for a little retail therapy? Browse our vendors for authentic Western gear and unique, one-of-a-kind finds you won’t want to leave without. In addition to free activities, attendees can enhance their experience with ticketed events and exclusive offerings available throughout the weekend.

To accommodate large crowds, free off-site parking will be available at the Old Town Newhall Parking Garage, the Newhall Community Center and the Cowboy Festival Shuttle Site located at the dirt lot at 13th Street & Railroad Avenue. Shuttle service will run Saturday, April 18 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Public transportation is also encouraged. Festivalgoers who are dressed up in western wear can snag a free ride on Santa Clarita Transit routes 4/14, 5/6 and 12. If you prefer a flexible ride, book a trip with the City’s on-demand rideshare service, Go! Santa Clarita, to easily move around town or take the Metrolink to the Newhall Station, which is within walking distance of the festival grounds.

Make sure to plan ahead for road closures in and around Old Town Newhall and allow extra travel time and follow posted detours. The celebration begins Friday, April 17, with the inaugural Line Dance Competition Finals at Hart Park at 6:00 p.m. setting the stage for an unforgettable weekend of Western entertainment.
