City of Santa Clarita Press Release

Rolling Into the Future at State of the City

City Manager Ken Striplin

Santa Clarita became a City nearly 40 years ago because residents wanted a greater voice in the decisions affecting our community. They wanted local control and elected representatives who lived here, understood the community and were accessible to the people they served.

That commitment to an engaged and informed community remains a City priority today. Whether you attend a City Council meeting, participate in a community event, follow the City on social media or simply reach out with a question, there are countless ways to connect with your local government. One of the best opportunities to learn about the work happening throughout Santa Clarita is our annual State of the City event.

On Thursday, October 22, the Santa Clarita City Council invites you to join us for the 2026 State of the City – Rolling into the Future. This year’s event will begin at 3:00 p.m. and, fittingly, will take place inside one of our newest and most anticipated community amenities – The Rink Sports Pavilion at the George A. Carvalho Sports Complex.

Each year, State of the City gives our City Council an opportunity to share directly with residents, community leaders and local businesses the projects, programs and initiatives that are shaping Santa Clarita. Through videos, presentations and plenty of fun, you will get an inside look at what we have accomplished together over the past year and what is coming next.

Guests will hear about the opening of The Rink Sports Pavilion, our new destination for roller skating, sports and community gatherings. We will also highlight the expansion of David March Park, the reopening of the William S. Hart Museum and many other projects and programs designed to enhance the exceptional quality of life we enjoy in Santa Clarita.

Of course, State of the City is about much more than buildings and projects – it is about the leadership of our City Council, our residents, businesses, community partners and dedicated City employees who work every day to keep Santa Clarita moving forward.

Guests will enjoy engaging presentations and videos, a special roller skating demonstration and a commemorative gift, followed by appetizers and refreshments after the program. Tickets are $45 per person or $450 for a table of 10 and include appetizers, drinks and a commemorative gift.

As we prepare to celebrate Santa Clarita’s 40th anniversary of Cityhood in 2027, there is no better time to get involved, stay informed and see firsthand where our community is headed. Come join us as we celebrate where we have been, where we are today and how Santa Clarita continues Rolling into the Future.
