The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of October 14, 2025:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Recognized Aakash Ahuja Jr. and the Team USA Latin American Baseball Classic Players.
  • Proclaimed October 2025 as Breast Cancer Awareness and Filipino American History Month.
  • Conducted a Public Hearing, tabulated property owner protest ballots, and approved assessment increases for City of Santa Clarita Landscape Maintenance District Zones T44 (Bouquet Canyon), T48 (Shadow Hills), and T62 (Canyon Heights).
  • Received a presentation and analysis of Prop 50 and voted to oppose the measure.
  • Approved an agreement granting Aspire Broadband Holdings, Inc. access to the City’s right-of-way and a lease of dark fiber strands to build, own, and operate a Fiber to the Premises network to deliver Citywide High-Speed Fiber Internet Service to businesses and residents.
  • Awarded a five-year contract to Stay Green, Inc. to provide landscape maintenance services for Landscape Maintenance District Zone T51 (Valencia High School) and Zone 16 (Valencia Industrial Center), for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,655,074, and Zone T52 (Stonecrest), for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,513,908.
  • Awarded a five-year contract to Marina Landscape Services, Inc. to provide landscape maintenance services for Landscape Maintenance District Zone 20 (Golden Valley Ranch Commercial) and Zone 21 (Golden Valley Ranch Residential), for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,533,260.
  • Awarded a one-year contract to Flo-Services, Inc. for Drainage Benefit Assessment Area preventative maintenance and inspection services in the amount of $172,910.
