I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Frederick Louis Gruchalla, a dedicated Vietnam War Veteran and cherished community volunteer.
After his honorable service in the United States Army, he made the Los Angeles area his home, where he continued to lead a life marked by passion, service and dedication.
Frederick was a man of many talents, from his work as a dance instructor and emcee, to his love of photography, music and classic cars.
He was a nationally recognized Country Western dance champion and a tireless advocate for Veterans.
His volunteer efforts enriched many local organizations, including the Santa Clarita Valley Child & Family Center, the Veterans Historical Plaza Committee and numerous Veterans’ groups.
Frederick was instrumental in creating the Veteran’s Memorial Wall at Eternal Valley and was honored as Veteran of the Year by the Van Nuys/Reseda Elks Lodge for his commitment to memorializing those who served our country.
Our hearts are with Frederick’s family, friends and all who knew him.
May his legacy of service and dedication to our community continue to inspire us all.
