I would like to adjourn tonight’s meeting in memory of Lola Williams.
As I mentioned at the last meeting, Teresa Todd wrote a beautiful letter about Lola that was published in The Signal.
I want to share more about Lola tonight.
She was a longtime resident of Placerita Canyon and one of its most dedicated advocates.
Lola was born in 1936, made the Canyon her home in 1961 and remained deeply connected to the community for more than six decades.
She was known for her strong sense of stewardship, her commitment to the Canyon’s equestrian lifestyle and her willingness to speak up to protect the place she loved.
Her advocacy and civic engagement made her a familiar voice here at City Hall and a respected presence in the community.
Lola was also a devoted animal lover and a good neighbor, known for caring for those around her and offering help whenever she could.
Her kindness and sense of responsibility toward both people and place defined the way she lived.
She is survived by her son, Roy, another longtime member of the Placerita Canyon community.
Lola Williams leaves behind a lasting legacy of care, conviction and community service.
Placerita Canyon is better because she called it home.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her son Roy, and all her loved ones during this tough time.
