Basketball Skills Challenge

The Youth Sports Basketball Skills Challenge is held in January each year. This FREE event features 3 sets of challenges for participants to show off their skills. They include NBA 2-Ball, 3-Point Shooting, and 2-on-2 Play – events partner youth in the basketball program together to compete against their peers. To participate in the event, players must be currently enrolled in a Minor through Senior Division of the Winter Basketball program.

The Master’s College Basketball Night

Youth Sports partners with The Master’s College to provide the “Youth Sports Master’s College Basketball.” Admission to the game is FREE to all participants and families of the City of Santa Clarita Youth Sports program. The event gives the opportunity for Santa Clarita youth to experience a collegiate level basketball game in their own backyard! Additionally, 4 Youth Sport’s basketball teams are chosen to play at half time of both the men and women’s basketball games, displaying their skills in front of the college crowd!

SCV Dodger Day

Youth Sports partners with Arts & Events to provide the “Santa Clarita Valley Dodger Day.” This event provides tickets to a selected LA Dodger game to residents of the Santa Clarita Valley at a discounted price. Other game day events provided by the LA Dodgers make for a fun and exciting experience for Santa Clarita Valley residents.

Youth Sports Football Skills Challenge

This FREE event held each year in September at Central Park, is a skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15. Girls and boys in five separate age divisions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) compete against their peers in passing, sprinting, and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum. Participants are scored on both distance and accuracy.

S.C.O.R.E. Program

Youth Sports is dedicated to creating opportunities for youth to participate in recreational activities in the Santa Clarita Valley.  The events listed below are designed to raise funds for the City’s S.C.O.R.E. (Supporting Children’s Opportunities in Recreational Events) program.  The S.C.O.R.E. program was established to provide City program registration scholarships for youth of underprivileged families in the Santa Clarita Valley.  Each event Youth Sports has developed was designed to include an element to raise funds for the S.C.O.R.E. program.
