Join us on Saturday, November 7 for the Fifth Annual Graffiti Removal Day!
Roll up your sleeves and join Santa Clarita’s Graffiti Removal Team for Graffiti Removal Day on Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Volunteers will have the unique opportunity to work alongside the City’s Graffiti Removal Team, learn about graffiti removal techniques and put their new skills to work during a large-scale graffiti removal beautification project.
This year’s Graffiti Removal Day will take place at Beale’s Cut Open Space (nearest address is 22580 Sierra Hwy). Painting supplies will be provided and volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes in addition to clothing that they do not mind getting paint on. Volunteers must be older than 13-years-old to help, and those aged 13-14 years-old must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian. During the event, volunteers will learn about the impact of graffiti vandalism, gain insight into the City’s prevention and removal efforts and get hands-on experience removing graffiti alongside City staff. This annual event is an opportunity for residents to connect with the team, learn something new and take an active role in keeping Santa Clarita beautiful.
Santa Clarita’s Graffiti Removal Team works year-round to keep the City clean, beautiful and graffiti-free; they have a record of removing 99 percent of graffiti within 24 hours of discovery or reporting. This year, the team has removed more than 10,235 tags. Even more impressive, the team reached 100-percent removal rate within 24 hours in July, August and September!
So, grab your sunscreen, dress comfortably and get ready to roll up your sleeves and get to work. Graffiti Removal Day is one of the most popular volunteer events attended, so early registration is highly encouraged.
