New Route 5 and 6 Schedules Bring More Convenient Connections and Improved Service
Santa Clarita Transit is making it easier for people to get where they need to go! Beginning Saturday, November 7, Santa Clarita Transit will implement an updated local bus schedule featuring significant improvements to Routes 5 and 6, including service to the new Vista Canyon Regional Transit Center (27550 Vista Canyon Blvd). With the extension of Route 6, riders will now have daily access to the Vista Canyon Regional Transit Center and Metrolink Station, creating another convenient connection to regional rail service.
Santa Clarita Transit is committed to fast, reliable service, which is why steps have been taken to make large improvements to the transit schedule, making it easier for riders. In addition to the new Route 6 service to the Vista Canyon Metrolink Station, riders on Route 5 and Route 6 can now expect improved connections of 15 minutes or less to many Metrolink trains serving the Santa Clarita and Newhall Metrolink Stations. These improvements will help reduce the time riders spend waiting between connections, making it easier to plan their commutes.
There will also be improved all-day 30-minute service along shared corridors of Route 5 and Route 6, with targeted midday hourly service in Stevenson Ranch. This more frequent and consistent service means less time waiting at bus stops and more predictable schedules, making it easier for riders to plan their day. Additionally, students and parents will benefit from improved bus schedules designed to better align with school start and dismissal times. That means riders on Routes 5 and 6 attending Hart High School, Placerita Junior High School, Sierra Vista Junior High School and Bowman High School can expect shorter wait times before and after school. A new dedicated afternoon supplemental route will also provide additional service for students attending Sierra Vista Junior High School and Canyon High School.
Along with these improvements, the updated schedules are designed to provide more consistent, reliable and on-time service throughout the day, helping riders travel with greater confidence.
Riders are encouraged to review the updated schedules before Saturday, November 7, to familiarize themselves with the changes and plan their trips accordingly. For more information about Santa Clarita Transit, including updated routes and schedules, visit SantaClaritaTransit.com.
