Summer is a time for discovery, connection and making memories, and our Community Centers are ready to welcome residents of all ages with engaging programs throughout the season.
While many families know our Community Centers for outstanding youth camps and children’s activities, the Newhall Community Center, Canyon Country Community Center and Valencia Community Center also offer a wide variety of classes, workshops and recreational opportunities designed for children, teens, adults and seniors.
Residents visiting the Newhall Community Center can explore creative and cultural enrichment through unique classes such as Chinese Dance and Flamenco. These programs provide participants with an opportunity to stay active, learn new skills and experience different artistic traditions in a welcoming community setting. Whether someone is trying a new hobby for the first time or continuing a longtime passion, these classes help foster creativity and personal growth.
Those stopping by the Canyon Country Community Center can enjoy hands-on workshops that blend learning with fun. Seasonal offerings include essential oil making and knitting with chunky yarn, giving residents a chance to create something unique while connecting with others who share similar interests. These classes are ideal for those looking to try something new, meet neighbors and spend time in a positive environment.
Meanwhile, the Valencia Community Center, located at Summit Park, offers a diverse mix of year-round recreation, education and wellness opportunities. The center’s indoor pool features swim lessons, lap swimming, water exercise, adult and teen learn-to-swim classes, and in-water volleyball for adults and seniors. Families can also benefit from programs such as Primetime Preschool, Parent and Me classes and the popular Camp Clarita seasonal day camp. Additional contract classes, including Tai Chi, MELT fitness and specialized adult volleyball, help create opportunities for residents to stay active and connected.
For adults and seniors seeking additional recreational opportunities, the Newhall Community Center and Canyon Country Community Center will also offer drop-in activities throughout the summer. Open Gym sessions provide space for movement and exercise, while table tennis and pickleball offer friendly competition and social connection. Select schedules will be adjusted to accommodate youth summer programming, ensuring both facilities continue to serve residents of all ages during the busy season.
We encourage residents to explore everything our Community Centers have to offer this summer. Whether you are interested in dance, crafts, fitness or simply connecting with others, there is truly something for everyone.
