The following is a recap of the City Council meeting on August 27, 2024:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Recognized the William S. Hart Baseball Pony League 7U Red Tournament Team for winning the World Series Championship.
  • Recognized local youth for completing the Santa Clarita Public Library’s One Thousand Books Before Kindergarten program.  
  • Continued the Public Hearing on the appeal of the Promenade Flats Mixed-Use Project to the October 22, 2024, City Council meeting.
  • Approved an expenditure increase to the existing contract with Dudek, for the preparation of the Wiley Canyon Development Project Environmental Impact Report, for a total contract amount not to exceed $368,720.
  • Awarded a one-year contract to Lundmark Advertising + Design, for marketing and advertising services for the Tourism Marketing District, for a total contract amount not to exceed $357,000.
  • Adjourned the meeting in-memoriam of Richard Stephen Jeffrey.
