The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of June 9, 2026:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Proclaimed June 19, 2026, as Juneteenth and June 2026 as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month.
  • Recognized the William S. Hart School District’s 80th anniversary.
  • Adopted the Annual Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2026-27.
  • Amended an agreement with Climatec, LLC, to authorize the installation of solar panels at three City facilities and the replacement of paseo pole lighting within the Northbridge community to improve system reliability and performance, in the amount of $2,542,608.
  • Approved funding uses for Measure A Local Solutions Funds, in the amount of $531,272, to support grants for Family Promise and Bridge to Home and to fund a Homeless Services Intern.
  • Awarded a design contract to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for the Circulation Improvement Program, Copper Hill Drive at West Hills Drive and Bouquet Canyon Road at Central Park, in an amount not to exceed $711,878.
  • Awarded a contract to Michael Baker International, Inc., for the preparation of the Sunridge Development project Environmental Impact Report, in an amount not to exceed $1,245,873.

The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of May 26, 2026:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Conducted a public hearing and scheduled the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Annual Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program adoption for the June 9, 2026, City Council regular meeting.
  • Conducted a public hearing and adopted a resolution to adjust the Fiscal Year 2026-27 schedule of fees and charges for City services.
  • Adopted a resolution declaring the incorporation of projects proposed to be funded by Senate Bill 1, Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, into the Capital Improvement Program.
  • Awarded construction contracts for the 2025-26 Overlay and Slurry Seal Program, Overlay C and Slurry Seal, to Toro Enterprises, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $2,381,201 and Union Pavement Services, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $537,792.
  • Adjourned the meeting in memory of Gordon Uppman.

May 12, 2026

The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of May 12, 2026:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Recognized Youth in Government participants and proclaimed May 2026 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month.
  • Conducted a public hearing and approved the 2026-27 Annual Action Plan and Substantial Amendment to the 2024-25 and 2025-26 Annual Action Plans for the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Act Program.
  • Opposed the Essential Services Restoration Act for Los Angeles County (Measure ER), a one-half (0.5%) general sales tax that will appear on the June 2, 2026, ballot.
  • Approved the transfer of responsibility for administering the Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade from SCVTV to the City of Santa Clarita, effective with the 2026 Parade.
  • Adopted a resolution calling and giving notice that the City of Santa Clarita will hold its General Municipal Election on November 3, 2026, to elect three members of the City Council for four-year terms: one seat in District 2, one seat in District 4, and one seat in District 5.
  • Awarded a three-year contract to CivicPlus, LLC, to continue using the CivicRec Recreation Management System to provide reliable online customer registration services and ensure continuity of recreational programming, for a total contract amount not to exceed $813,903.
  • Approved the plans and specifications for the Valencia Heritage Park Tennis/Pickleball Court Improvements project and awarded a construction contract to R.C. Becker, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $701,639, and a professional services contract to provide construction support to Hirsch & Associates, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $17,060.

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Conducted a second reading and adopted an ordinance regarding amendments to the Santa Clarita Municipal Code’s accessory dwelling unit ordinance and two-unit development ordinance, and implementation of Housing Element Policy HP-2.1, pertaining to zoning for several housing types.
  • Awarded a three-year contract to Carahsoft Technology Corp., for a new agenda management system and a one-year contract for a public engagement platform, for total contract amounts not to exceed $168,026 and $26,846, respectively.
  • Awarded a five-year contract to Stay Green, Inc., to provide landscape maintenance services for Landscape Maintenance District Zone 29 (Villa Metro), Zone 30 (Penlon), and Zone 31 (Five Knolls), for a total contract amount not to exceed $733,370.
  • Awarded a construction contract to National Pools Inc., for the Valencia Glen Park Pool Re-Plaster project, for a total contract amount not to exceed $304,876.
  • Awarded construction and professional services contracts for the 2025-26 Federal Circulation Improvement Program, Phase IV project to C.A. Rasmussen, Inc., Dokken Engineering, and Allan E. Seward Engineering Geology, Inc., for total contract amounts not to exceed $2,602,812; $74,714; and $77,961, respectively.

The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of April 14, 2026:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Proclaimed April 2026 as Autism Acceptance Month and National Volunteer Month.
  • Conducted a public hearing, held a first reading, and passed to a second reading an ordinance regarding amendments to the Santa Clarita Municipal Code’s accessory dwelling unit ordinance and two-unit development ordinance, and implementation of Housing Element Policy HP-2.1, pertaining to zoning for several housing types.
  • Adopted the City of Santa Clarita’s Fiscal Year 2026-27 Statement of Investment Policy.
  • Awarded a design contract to Architerra Design Group, for the Newhall Community Center Playground Renovation Project, for a total contract amount not to exceed $82,192.
  • Accepted a donation of Judith Modrak’s artwork, Endangered Fossils, located at West Creek Park into the City of Santa Clarita’s permanent public art collection.
  • Awarded contracts to Beam Global, ChargePoint, Inc., and H&S Electric, Inc., for the purchase and installation of three electric vehicle chargers at the Transit Maintenance Facility, for a total contract amount not to exceed $198,294, $57,222 and $47,300, respectively.
  • Extended the contract with MV Transportation, Inc., for the operation and maintenance of the City’s transit service system through June 28, 2028, in an amount not to exceed $32,056,649 in Fiscal Year 2026-27.
  • Adjourned the meeting in memory of Richard Patterson and Richard S. Musella.
