Patsy Ayala serves as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Santa Clarita and as a Director of the Los Angeles County North County Transportation Coalition (NCTC), representing Santa Clarita and working with regional leaders on transportation priorities for North Los Angeles County.

Patsy brings more than a decade of public service and transportation policy experience at the state, regional and local levels. Prior to joining the Santa Clarita City Council, she served in the California State Assembly and Senate, where she worked extensively on transportation legislation and initiatives and collaborated with Caltrans, Metro, Metrolink and other transportation agencies. She advocated for transportation infrastructure, mobility, safety and resources on behalf of the cities and communities throughout the legislative districts she represented.

Her transportation experience also includes working directly with Metro on community and business programs, including assisting with implementation of the Metro Business Interruption Fund, collaborating on Metro’s Eat Shop Play initiative, and supporting transportation safety education and community outreach. Through events, communications and direct engagement, she has helped residents and businesses understand regional transportation projects, initiatives and opportunities.

A longtime Santa Clarita resident and community leader, Patsy has served in leadership roles with business, education and civic organizations throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. She was named the 21st Senatorial District Woman of the Year in 2013 and has received numerous recognitions for her public and community service.

Patsy holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Management and certificates of study from Yale University and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
