The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 11, 2021:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Approved a five-signature letter and authorized that it be sent to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, requesting support in urging the District Attorney’s Office to file sentence enhancements in the murder of Michelle Dorsey.
- Supported Assembly Bill 1251.
- Opposed Assembly Bill 970 and Senate Bill 621.
- Awarded a two-year contract to American Heritage Landscape, Inc., to provide landscape maintenance services to specific Landscape Maintenance District Zones, for a total two-year amount not to exceed $213,062.
- Adopted resolutions initiating proceedings for the annual levy of Special Districts for Fiscal Year 2021-22.
- Adopted the City’s Fiscal Year 2021-22 Statement of Investment Policy and directed staff to submit the policy to the Association of Public Treasurers of the United States and Canada for certification.
- Approved the 2021-22 Annual Action Plan and the second Substantial Amendment to the 2020-21 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Act Programs.
