The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 24, 2019:

Highlights include:

  • Presented the CMAA Southern California Chapter 2019 Project Achievement Award to staff from the City of Santa Clarita’s Public Works Department for excellence in construction and program management for the 2017-2018 Overlay and Slurry Projects.
  • Presented a proclamation for Suicide Prevention month to the Suicide Prevention and Wellness Committee. 
  • Awarded a one-year contract, with the option of three one-year renewables to Data Ticket, Inc. to provide the City with parking citation processing services, not to exceed $125,000.
  • Introduced and passed to a second reading an ordinance to the Santa Clarita Municipal Code concerning street trees, to allow for the transfer of ownership and maintenance responsibility for select trees in limited circumstances to private property owners.
  • Adopted an update to the Transit Development Plan (TDP) which included community input and data analytics, detailing long-term service needs and the corresponding financial plan to meet projected needs.
  • Introduced and passed to a second reading an ordinance to increase Councilmember compensation to be effective 2021.

Regular City Council meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month. 

The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
