The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 25, 2019:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Proclaimed the month of June as Pride Month.
  • Approved plans and specifications for the 2018-2019 Overlay A and Overlay B Projects as a part of the annual overlay and slurry seal, pavement management program.
  • Approved an award of expenditure authority to selected vendors to provide books and materials for the Santa Clarita Public Library, for a total of $1,000,000 annually.
  • Awarded a contract to artist C.J. Rench in the amount of $121,500 to create the civic art piece “Communitree” as part of the Canyon Country Community Center project.
  • Awarded a contract to Crown Castle Fiber LLC for the lease of two dark fiber strands to connect Santa Clarita to Downtown Los Angeles, for a total amount not to exceed $217,350.

Adopted the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Annual Operating Budget of $225.9 million and Capital Improvement Program, making appropriations for the amounts budgeted and establishing fiscal policies. View the Entire Agenda for the June 25, 2019, meeting.
