The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 12, 2016:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Approval of the contract for the Old Town Newhall Parking Structure with the top deck of the parking structure to be developed as event space.
- Awarded $3 million dollars to the Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging for the construction of the new Senior Center facility.
- Approval of the purchase of approximately 241 acres of property in the Newhall Pass area.
- Approval of the purchase of approximately 78 acres of property in the Castaic area.

Regular City Council meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
