The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, November 22, 2016:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Accepted the 2016 Citizens’ Options for Public Safety Grant (COPS) Program funds.
  • Awarded a one-year contract for trash maintenance and general cleaning services for 262 bus stops. 
  • Awarded contracts for the purchase and delivery of five compressed natural gas (CNG) powered commuter buses and eight CNG powered local buses.
  • Adopted a resolution to install a multiway stop control for the intersection of Vista Ridge Drive and Farrow Drive.
  • Adopted a resolution to establish a 25-foot-on-street passenger loading zone in front of the Canterbury Village Senior Apartments on Avenida Rotella. 
  • Awarded various contracts for the construction of the new Sheriff’s Station.
  • Approved the Local appointments List, including all ongoing boards, commissions, and committees appointed by the City Council, and approved the recruitment process for the vacancies.
  • Public hearing held to annex six parcels into the Streetlight Maintenance District No. 1.
