The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 13, 2016:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Awarded a contract for the architectural and landscape design for the new community center in Canyon Country.
- Awarded a one-year contract to administer the annual levy administration of Special Districts.
- Awarded a construction contract for the Fair Oaks Park improvements project.
- Approved contract authorization increases related to the installation of new plant material in various Landscape Maintenance District zones.
- Approved a resolution to establish a 400-feet no-stopping anytime zone along the east side of Railroad Avenue just north of 15th Street.
- Accepted the donation of conservation easements on City-owned open space land in Elsmere Canyon Open Space.
- Held a public hearing and adopted a resolution to adjust Consolidated Fire Protection District developer fees.
- Received a presentation regarding options to fill the City Council vacancy. The City Council will proceed with an appointment process.
- Adopted a moratorium ordinance pertaining to private marijuana cultivation and non-medical marijuana facilities.
During the special meeting, Cameron Smyth was appointed Mayor and Laurene Weste was appointed Mayor Pro Tem.
