The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, February 11, 2020:
Highlights include:
- Recognized Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Commander Robert Lewis for his years of exemplary service to the City and Santa Clarita Valley and Bob Siecke, Community Court Coordinator and co-founder of the Santa Clarita Teen Court.
- Received an award for being named a Silver-Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists for the City’s efforts to build better places to bike.
- Accepted the donation of +/- 10 acres of real property adjacent to Gateway Ranch, for the purpose of public recreation and open space preservation.
- Awarded a conceptual design contract to the Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA), for a total contract amount not to exceed $179,644 for the conceptual design of a grade-separated crossing at the Via Princessa Metrolink Station for both a pedestrian-only and a vehicular and pedestrian crossing to connect the existing parking lot to the future Via Princessa park site.
- Appointed Councilwoman Marsha McLean as the Delegate and Mayor Pro Tem Bill Miranda as the Alternate to the 2020 Southern California Association of Governments’ General Assembly.
