The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 14, 2021:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Proclaimed September 15, 2021, to October 15, 2021, as Hispanic Heritage Month.
- Conducted a public hearing and adopted a resolution approving the Engineer’s Report for annexing specific parcels throughout the City into Streetlight Maintenance District, Zone B, and order levies beginning Fiscal Year 2022-23.
- Adopted the update of the City’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.
- Approved an agreement with the Santa Clarita Valley Committee on Aging in the amount of $325,000 to support home delivered meals and recreation, health, and wellness programs for seniors.
- Awarded a construction contract to California Professional Engineering, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $135,975, to enhance nighttime lighting for residents utilizing the Newhall Park and Ride program.
