The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 12, 2022:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Approved a settlement agreement related to the California Voting Rights Act lawsuit and will institute district-based elections for the City Council seats, starting with the 2024 City Council election. 
  • Awarded a design contract to Anil Verma Associates, Inc., to design the Santa Clarita Roller Skating Rink in an amount not to exceed $356,180.
  • Approved plans and specifications for the 2021-22 Overlay A and B project and Slurry Seal project.
  • Conducted a public hearing and adopted a resolution to adjust the Consolidated Fire Protection District developer fee from $1.3120 per square foot to $1.4316 per square foot in accordance with the Developer Fee Agreement between the City and the Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County.
