The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2022:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Opened a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2022-23 Annual Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Program and scheduled the budget for adoption at the June 28, 2022, City Council Meeting.
- Conducted a public hearing and adopted a resolution establishing an updated schedule of fees and charges for City services, including a 6.57% increase to certain fees, consistent with the December year-end Consumer Price Index.
- Adopted a resolution approving an Agreement with Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. to provide residential and commercial garbage, recyclable materials, and organic waste collection services, for a 10-year base term beginning on July 1, 2023 and ending on June 30, 2033.
- Supported the following piece of legislation: Assembly Bill 2142.
- Opposed the following pieces of legislation: Assembly Bill 1797, Assembly Bill 2295, Senate Bill 866, and Senate Bill 1479.
- Adopted a resolution appointing Councilmembers Miranda and Smyth to the Santa Clarita Board of Library Trustees for a three-year term, expiring June 30, 2025.
- Awarded Landscape Maintenance Contracts to Oakridge Landscape, Inc, to provide maintenance services for LMD Zone 15 (River Village) and LMD Zone 16 (Valencia Industrial Center) in amounts not to exceed $244,942 and $267,562, respectively.
