The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, January 24, 2023:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Proclaimed February 5-10, 2023, as Restaurant Week.
- Recognized Dianna Boone for 12 years of service as a Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commissioner.
- Recommended Mayor Jason Gibbs to serve on the Los Angeles County Affordable Housing Solutions Agency.
- Discussed and approved the City Council Committee Appointments for 2023.
- Approved the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 by The Pun Group, LLP.
- Approved recommended revisions to the City Council policies and the new City of Santa Clarita Business Sponsorship Program policy.
- Approved the 2023 Community Services and Arts Grants Committee’s program funding recommendations for a total amount not to exceed $200,000.
- Accepted Fiscal Year 2022 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funds from the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance, for total amount of $21,982.
- Adjourned the meeting in-memoriam of Cheryl Campbell.
