The City of Santa Clarita is proud to celebrate its role in bringing some of television’s most recognized productions to the screen, with ten Emmy-nominated productions filming scenes in Santa Clarita this year. Of those productions, six took home honors at the 78th Emmy Awards. Leading the way was Spider-Noir with five wins, followed by Beef and Love on the Spectrum with three wins each. Fallout, Paradise and Hacks also earned awards. Several of these winning productions utilized some of Santa Clarita’s premier filming locations and production facilities, such as Rancho Deluxe and LA North Studios.
Among the nominated productions was Nike’s “Why Do It?” commercial, which featured Olympic athletes in a powerful celebration of determination, perseverance and the drive to push beyond expectations. The commercial was filmed at College of the Canyons and the Santa Clarita Skate Park, showcasing two of the many local locations that offer distinctive settings for film, television and commercial productions.
These locations and more were recently highlighted during Film Santa Clarita’s Familiarization (FAM) Tour in August, which provided film industry professionals with a firsthand look at the diverse locations and production resources available throughout Santa Clarita. Beginning in Old Town Newhall, the tour included stops at College of the Canyons, Santa Clarita Studios, The Cube – Ice and Entertainment Center powered by Valencia by FivePoint, Blue Cloud Ranch and the Santa Clarita Sports Complex. Attendees included location managers, directors, university professors and representatives from labor unions and the California Film Commission.
The FAM Tour offered participants an opportunity to experience the range of looks available within Santa Clarita while learning more about the resources and film-friendly services that support productions from location scouting through filming. By connecting industry professionals directly with local locations and resources, Film Santa Clarita continues to strengthen relationships within the entertainment industry and showcase why productions choose Santa Clarita.
Santa Clarita remains one of California’s premier filming destinations, offering diverse landscapes, more than 50 sound stages, over 10 movie ranches and the City’s unique Movie Ranch Overlay Zone, which supports long-term filming operations. In 2025 alone, the City issued 338 film permits and generated an estimated $14.6 million in economic impact from filming activity. Santa Clarita’s continued leadership in the industry was also recognized by MovieMaker Magazine, which named the City the Fifth Best Place to Live and Work as a Moviemaker among smaller cities and towns in 2026.
