Recently Completed Projects
Plum Canyon Median Refurbishment Project
The City of Santa Clarita recently completed a refurbishment project on the medians along Plum Canyon Road, spanning from Bouquet Canyon Road to Skyline Ranch Road. Originally constructed over 30 years ago, these medians are part of the highly traveled Plum Canyon Corridor. The project aimed to enhance aesthetic appeal of the Plum Canyon Corridor while upgrading the medians to current City standards. Key improvements include installation of wider maintenance strips to improve safety during maintenance, upgrade of hardscape to durable and visually appealing pavers and the addition of water efficient irrigation systems. The refurbished medians include 120 trees and over 3,000 plants specially selected for beauty, water efficiency and compatibility with the location. These enhancements not only improve safety for maintenance crews but also promote sustainability by conserving water resources.
The Plum Canyon Median Refurbishment aligns with the City of Santa Clarita’s five-year strategic plan, Santa Clarita 2025, specifically supporting the Community Beautification and Sustainability theme. The recent median upgrades create a visually appealing corridor for residents and visitors alike and improves safety during landscape maintenance. By investing in water-efficient landscaping and sustainable infrastructure, the City continues to foster a welcoming community atmosphere while prioritizing environmental stewardship and long-term urban beautification.
