The City’s award-winning Communications Division provides timely and accurate information to the media, the community, businesses and non-profits regarding City programs, projects and events. The Communications Division is inclusive of audio-visual services, graphic design, radio/television/print/web advertising, marketing, public and community relations, citizen participation and outreach.
The Division is responsible for: publishing the quarterly Seasons magazine as well as the biannual “State of the City” newsletter, producing and televising the twice monthly City Council and planning commission meetings, the weekly “This Week in Santa Clarita” online news update, and producing and airing public service announcements for television and radio. The Division also produces monthly articles in local magazines, manages advertising for City departments and has oversight of projects including the City’s public opinion poll.
The Division spearheads all City groundbreakings and grand openings for city projects; hosts the annual State of the City luncheon event; manages the City’s streetlight pole and paseo bridge banner program; writes speeches for city officials; provides marketing/advertising support to City divisions and programs including Old Town Newhall, Recycling, Capital Projects and Transit to name a few. The Communication divisions is responsible for the provision of public relations activities to all City departments.
