Fourth of July Celebrations in Santa Clarita!

by Mayor Cameron Smyth

Every year, the Fourth of July fills Santa Clarita with the sights and sounds of parades, professional fireworks shows, sizzling barbecues and joyful gatherings with family and friends. Residents eagerly anticipate dressing in patriotic colors and decorating their homes to celebrate our nation’s independence. Embrace the spirit of community and country by joining us in the many celebrations happening throughout the City of Santa Clarita.

Start your day with the Independence Day Classic 5k and 10k, hosted by the Santa Clarita Runners. The 10k race kicks off at 7:00 a.m., guiding runners along a fast, flat and paved route on the South Fork Trail, where they can enjoy beautiful City views. The 5k race begins at 8 a.m. and winds through the City of Santa Clarita parade route, featuring one of the best cheering sections in Southern California. Along with the 5k and 10k, there will also be a Kids K and a Senior Walk, ensuring fun for everyone. To register for any of the races, visit scrunners.org.

At 9:00 a.m., the spectacular Santa Clarita Fourth of July Parade takes over Old Town Newhall. Join the community as the streets come alive with colorful floats and lively entries from local groups. This year’s theme, The Freedom to Play, Celebrating Our Parks, Trails and Open Space, promises to showcase creative and inspiring displays from our community.

As the sun sets, gather around Valencia Town Center for a spectacular fireworks display. Grab your lawn chairs and find a cozy spot for you and your loved one to enjoy the spectacle. Tune into KHTS AM 1220 for a live soundtrack that perfectly complements the dazzling bursts of color lighting up the night sky. Make this Fourth of July unforgettable and celebrate with your community!
