The Youth Employment Services (YES) Program is a first-time employment job training program for low-income or high-risk 16 to 18-year-old teens (15 to 19 summer only) residing in Santa Clarita. The City of Santa Clarita partners with businesses and agencies in the community for job training opportunities for teens.

Teens who participate in the program gain valuable work experience, develop job skills and build their self-esteem and confidence. Since 1991, the City of Santa Clarita has provided local teens with employment, work readiness, and leadership development through the Youth Employment Services (YES) program.

How does YES work?

Teens apply online and are interviewed and hired by the City of Santa Clarita. Successful applicants are placed at local job sites for up to 12 weeks and earn minimum wage. Participants are also required to attend three or more skill-building sessions to increase employability while in the program. The YES Program staff works closely with work-site supervisors to establish a good work ethic and develop their skills. Teens who complete the program receive an official certificate of completion.
