Disaster Debris Removal

Disaster Debris Removal

The City of Santa Clarita has developed a Debris Management Plan to provide guidance in the event of a large-scale debris removal and disposal operation resulting from a major, citywide disaster. Possible disasters that could result in the need for large-scale debris clearance include:

  • Earthquakes
  • Wildfires
  • Floods
  • Severe Weather
  • Landslides/Mudslides
  • Terrorist Events

The first steps of the Debris Management Plan include clearing the public right-of-way to ensure access for emergency vehicles. It also details steps for proper disposal of potentially dangerous or harmful materials. This will help the community to recover more quickly and safely.
