Elections

City of Santa Clarita’s next General Municipal Election is November 5, 2024

Welcome to the City of Santa Clarita’s election information website. Here you can find information about upcoming elections, past elections, campaign contributions to candidates and elected officials, as well as information on the election process.

Regular elections are consolidated with statewide elections in November of even-numbered years to fill expired City Council terms. The City Clerk is the local elections official and coordinates with the County of Los Angeles in the conduct of municipal elections. It is the duty of the City Clerk to qualify candidates for the ballot and to provide guidance in meeting their legal responsibilities before, during, and after an election.

This site is updated every election cycle once City Council calls for an election, which typically occurs in June of even years.

Please note: The City will institute district-based elections for City Council seats, starting with the 2024 City Council election.  To find out more about district elections and transitioning, please go to the City’s District Elections page: santaclarita.gov/DistrictElections
