- Outgoing Mayor Bill Miranda was honored with presentations.
- Councilmembers Laurene Weste and Patsy Ayala were nominated and sworn in as Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem, respectively, for the upcoming year.
The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of December 9, 2025:
Highlights of actions taken include:
- Reviewed the First Responders Tribute Project and awarded a contract to Big Statues, LLC, for the purchase of four first responder tribute statues.
- Adopted resolutions amending the budgets, classification plan and salary schedules, and schedule of fees and charges for City services for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 and Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
- Adopted the Santa Clarita 2026 Executive and Legislative Platform.
- Adopted a resolution to establish a multi-way stop control for the intersection of Arcadia Street at 8th Street.
- Approved the plans and specifications for the Magic Mountain Parkway Beautification, Phase I, Project B1019; awarded the construction contract to Toro Enterprises, Inc., and the professional services contract to Encompass Consultant Group, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $7,944,466 and $256,887, respectively.
- Approved the plans and specifications for the McBean Parkway Realignment, Project S1047; awarded the construction contract to Sully-Miller Contracting Company and the professional services contract to Ardurra Group, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,745,999 and $124,110, respectively.
