The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 25, 2023:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Recognized Santa Clarita resident and LAPD Officer, Adrian Bonilla for his heroism in going above and beyond to protect innocent lives.
- Proclaimed April 23-29, 2023, as National Library and National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, April 28, 2023, as Arbor Day, April 30, 2023, as National Therapy Animal Day and April 30 through May 6, 2023, as Municipal Clerks Week.
- Conducted a public hearing and approved the 2023-24 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Act Programs.
- Approved an increase in expenditure authority with DocuSign Inc. for ongoing electronic signature processing for a total amount not to exceed $67,7000.
- Awarded a two-year contract to American Heritage landscape
- Adopted two ordinances updating the City’s Municipal Code regarding oversized vehicle parking regulations and vehicles parked over 72 hours.
- Awarded two-year contracts to Baker & Taylor LLC, Brodart Co., Children’s Plus, Inc., Midwest Tape LLC, and Tsai Fong Books, Inc., to provide books and materials for the Santa Clarita Public Library and to EBSCO
- Adjourned the meeting in-memoriam of Judge Floyd Baxter.
