The following is a recap of the City Council meeting on August 22, 2023:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Proclaimed August 21, 2023, as National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.
- Conducted a public hearing on the Shadowbox Studios Project, certified the Shadowbox Final EIR and adopted the Mitigation Monitoring Reporting Program, approved Master Case 21-109 Shadowbox Studios, and introduced and passed to second reading an ordinance approving certain zone changes for the Project.
- Approved a contract with Los Angeles County to participate in the seventh round of the Los Angeles Region Imagery Acquisition Consortium for the purchase of high-quality aerial imagery and elevation datasets for an amount not to exceed $89,564.
- Awarded a construction contract to R.C. Becker and Son, Inc., for the Drayton Street Improvements Project, for a total contract amount not to exceed $656,217.
