The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting on January 28, 2025:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Recognized City Staff for the City’s receipt of several awards including, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Award, the Investment Policy Certificate of Excellence Award, and the 2024 Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award.
  • Conducted a public hearing and adopted a Tax Equity and Financial Responsibility Act resolution approving the issuance of tax-exempt obligations by the California Public Finance Authority and by Arizona Industrial Development Authority to finance or reimburse the acquisition and construction costs by ISF Ativo Holdings LLC of a 140-bed rental senior living community.
  • Conducted a public hearing and adopted a resolution denying Appeal 24-005, upholding the Planning Commission’s October 1, 2024, decision, and incorporating recommended changes to the Conditions of Approval.
  • Approved the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and other related reports for fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
  • Adopted a resolution to establish a 115-foot and a 255-foot No Stopping Any Time zones on the north side of Oakhurst Drive, south of Dockweiler Drive.
  • Approved the 2025 Community Services and Arts Grants Committee’s program funding recommendations in an amount not to exceed $100,000 for Community Services Grants and $100,000 for Arts Grants, for a total not to exceed $200,000.
  • Adjourned the meeting in-memoriam of Dale Gerstel.
