The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of January 13, 2026:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Recognized the City of Santa Clarita as a recipient of the 2025 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute.
  • Approved the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report and related reports for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, which received an unmodified “clean” audit opinion letter, the highest level an organization can receive on its financial statements.
  • Adopted a resolution accepting and adopting the Annual Impact Fee Report in accordance with the Mitigation Fee Act, which requires local agencies to prepare an annual and five-year report on development impact fees.
  • Adopted resolutions to initiate proceedings to form the Sand Canyon Plaza Drainage Benefit Assessment Area for Tracts 53074 and 53074-01, approved the Engineer’s Report, and set a Public Hearing for March 10, 2026, to receive public comments and close the ballot period.
  • Adopted a resolution establishing prima facie speed limits for roadways within the City, allowing the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to use radar and laser enforcement of speed limits.
