The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 27, 2016:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Approved a 25-year Lease Agreement with the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley at Newhall Memorial Park.
- Approved a one-year Public Television Management Services Agreement with Santa Clarita Valley Television.
- Accepted the 2016 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program funds.
- Adopted a resolution establishing 385 feet of a no-stopping anytime zone along the east side of Bouquet Canyon Road south of Cinema Drive.
- Awarded a two-year Janitorial Services Contract for various City-owned facilities.
- Held a public hearing to approve the development of an 8.6 acre commercial property located at the southwest corner of Rio Norte Drive and Newhall Ranch Road.
- Approved the Arts Commission Work Plan and the proposal for the Public Art Planning and Selection Process.

Regular City Council meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
