The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of June 24, 2025:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Recognized Legacy Christian Academy’s 30th anniversary.
  • Conducted a first reading and passed to a second reading an ordinance adopting the 2025 Fire Hazard Severity Zone Map of the City of Santa Clarita (City) pursuant to Government Code Section 51179.
  • Approved the draft Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 721, and adopted a resolution providing for compensation of employees represented by the SEIU.
  • Conducted a second reading and adopted the proposed amendments to the MetroWalk Specific Plan (Master Case 24-230).
  • Awarded a one-year contract to Advantage Productions for sound, stage, and power services for City events, for a total contract amount not to exceed $54,945.
  • Approved plans and specifications for Newhall Gateway Beautification, Project B2018; awarded a construction and a professional services contract to Superb Engineering, Inc., and to Pacific Coast Land Design, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $2,993,238 and $147,076, respectively.
  • Awarded a design contract to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., for the Newhall Avenue Railroad Safety Improvements, Project C2029, for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,046,140.
  • Conducted a second reading and adopted an ordinance determining the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Fee for Fiscal Year 2025-26.
  • Approved the plans and specifications for the Haskell Canyon Bike Park project, Project P0020; awarded a construction contract to ARC Construction Inc., and extended the professional service contract for construction management support with Avid Trails, for a total contract amount not to exceed $6,893,447 and $630,797, respectively.
