The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of March 10, 2026:
Highlights of actions taken include:
- Recognized the Santa Clarita Lady Flyers Hockey Team.
- Received an annual update from the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation.
- Conducted a public hearing and introduced an ordinance with proposed amendments related to the City of Santa Clarita’s Oak Tree Regulations, which would establish a ministerial permit pathway for the removal of oak trees on existing single-family residential properties when an existing, qualifying structure is located within the tree’s fall zone, allowing homeowners to responsibly address proximity-related concerns while maintaining mitigation requirements and preserving the broader oak tree preservation framework.
- Approved the replacement of the City’s network firewall hardware from Lanair Group, LLC, for a total contract amount not to exceed $185,252.
- Awarded a contract to Lighting Technology Services, Inc. dba LTS Property Services, for the purchase and installation of a network lighting control system at the McBean Regional Transit Center, for a total contract amount not to exceed $165,196.
- Awarded a contract to Connexionz Limited for the purchase, installation, and configuration of the onboard Intelligent Transportation System on seven New Flyer Hydrogen Fuel Cell transit buses, for a total contract amount not to exceed $74,067.
- Awarded a construction contract to ABC Liovin Drilling, Inc., for DBAA 24 Well Redevelopments, Project M4015, for a total contract amount not to exceed $408,375.
- Adjourned the meeting in memory of Donald “Don” Kuehl.
