The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of September 8, 2026:

Highlights of actions taken include:

  • Proclaimed September 2026 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Hispanic Heritage Month.
  • Recognized Rhona Jukes as she prepares to retire after her 54-year career in the mortgage and real estate industry.
  • Established a Bouquet Canyon Business Assistance Grant Program to provide temporary, financial assistance to eligible businesses experiencing documented economic hardship during the Bouquet Canyon Road closure.
  • Adopted an ordinance amending the Santa Clarita Municipal Code to establish Objective Design Standards for multifamily and mixed-use development.
  • Awarded a contract to West Coast Turf in the amount of $307,269 for the purchase and installation of sport grass sod for four multipurpose fields at Central Park.
  • Awarded a three-year contract to Top Shelf Bar and Grille for the operation of The Wheel Restaurant at The Rink Sports Pavilion.
