The following is a recap of the City Council meeting on September 10, 2024:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Proclaimed the month of September 2024 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
- Proclaimed the week of September 17, 2024, as Constitution Week.
- Approved a Memorandum of Understanding with Blue Ox Holdings, LLC, regarding a yet-to-be-proposed specific plan on the former Whittaker-Bermite property.
- Discussed the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, and established an LA28 Ad Hoc Committee, with appointments to be made at the next regular meeting.
- Approved the plans and specifications for the Orchard Village Road Protected Pedestrian and Bicycle Facility, and awarded the construction contract to Toro Enterprises, Inc., for a total contract amount not to exceed $625,897.
- Adjourned the meeting in-memoriam of Nancy Coulter.
