The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of October 28, 2025:
Highlights of actions taken include:
- Proclaimed November 2025 as Native American Heritage Month.
- Conducted a Public Hearing and approved Master Case 25-082 request to operate a new heavy manufacturing use to partially demolish and remodel two existing, one-story metal industrial buildings at 25710 and 25750 Springbrook Avenue.
- Conducted a first reading of the 2025 California Building Standards Code and set the Public Hearing for November 25, 2025.
- Awarded a contract to Model 1 Bus Sales for the purchase and delivery of new Compressed Natural Gas Dial-A-Ride and zero-emission Go! Santa Clarita vehicles in the amount of $2,327,900.
- Approved the utilization of state grant funding for the preservation and acquisition of 670 +/- acres, supporting the City’s commitment to preserve open space in an effort to complete the open space greenbelt surrounding the Santa Clarita Valley.
- Awarded a construction contract to Driltek Inc. for Needham Ranch open space oil wells plugging and abandonment for the total contract amount not to exceed $1,795,690.
- Approved the plans and specifications for the Via Princessa Park – Phase IA, Project P3033; awarded a construction contract to James McMinn, Inc., a professional services contract to Michael Baker International, Inc., a professional services contract to Psomas, and tribal monitoring services to Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians, for a total contract amount not to exceed $1,172,310, $378,092, $325,226, and $66,000, respectively.
- In observation of Veterans Day, there will not be a City Council Meeting on Tuesday, November 11.
- Adjourned the meeting in memory of David Veal.

Regular City Council meetings take place on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.
