The following is a recap of the City Council regular meeting of November 25, 2025:
Highlights of actions taken include:
- Recognized the recipients of the Friends of Hart Park Lifetime Achievement Award, Recycling All Star Award, Investment Policy and Excellence in Financial Reporting Awards, and the Award for Achievement in Information Technology Practices.
- Conducted a Public Hearing and adopted resolutions denying Appeal 25-002, affirming the Planning Commission’s certification of the Final Environmental Impact Report and approval of the Wiley Canyon Mixed Use Project (Master Case 20-238) and its associated entitlements.
- Conducted a Public Hearing and second reading to adopt the 2025 California Building Standards Code, with an effective date of January 1, 2026, as required by state law.
- Approved the purchase of a Zamboni ice-resurfacer from Zamboni Company USA, Inc., for The Cube, in an amount not to exceed $200,625.
- Adopted a resolution approving the updated Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP), as required by the State Water Resources Control Board.
- Adopted the Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District’s resolutions approving and accepting the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues resulting from Santa Clarita Valley Sanitation District Annexation Nos. 1134, 1137, and 1143 to provide wastewater treatment services to properties located outside the District’s service area.
- Adopted a resolution approving the annual rate adjustment request for Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc., contingent upon the implementation of Los Angeles County’s proposed residential rate in the unincorporated areas of the Santa Clarita Valley, effective January 1, 2026.
- Ratified payments in the amount of $22,646 to Specialized Elevator for elevator services at the City of Santa Clarita facilities.
- Adjourned the meeting in memory of Brad Berens.
