The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, May 9, 2017:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Named May as Bike Month. 
  • Adopted the 2016-17 annual overlay and slurry seal program projects for the City’s pavement management program.
  • Established no-stopping anytime zones on Camino Del Arte Drive between Copper Hill Drive and Vista Del Rio Drive.
  • Awarded a contract for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station design of a new water service pipeline.
  • Awarded a contract for landscape maintenance services within Zone 18 (Town Center/Tourney).
  • Adopted a resolution for the Open Space Preservation District for Fiscal Year 2017-18.
  • Awarded a contract for the procurement and installation of on-board bus video surveillance equipment.
  • Adopted a resolution to approve the Memorandum of Understanding to form the Santa Clarita Valley Groundwater Sustainability Agency Board.
  • Passed to second reading the annual Stormwater Pollution Prevention Fee for fiscal year 2017-18.
  • Approved the Draft 2017-18 Annual Action Plan and Community Development Block Grant Funding Recommendations.
  • Discussed proposed updates to Municipal Code 6.02, Manufactured Home Rent Adjustment Procedures.
