The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 2019:

Highlights include:

  • Proclaimed October 2019 as Filipino American History Month in the City of Santa Clarita.
  • Awarded a two-year contract to Stay Green, Inc. to provide landscape maintenance services to Landscape Maintenance District Zone T8 (Valencia Summit) for an amount not to exceed $1,033,850.
  • Awarded the construction management services contract to RailPros for the Vista Canyon Multi-Modal Transit Center for an amount not to exceed $1,000,000. This project consists of a center track platform, a grade-separated pedestrian crossing, railroad track design, new railroad bridge, sound walls and amenities such as canopies, lighting, benches, security system and landscaping.
  • Awarded the design contract to Psomas for the Central Park Buildout, not to exceed $543,142. This action will provide for the design of the expansion of the southwestern portion of Central Park. The primary focus of the expansion will be four additional full-sized multipurpose fields and will include the installation of sport field lighting, landscaping and irrigation, various site furnishings, a restroom/concession building, upgrades to the adjacent dog park and additional parking.
  • Conducted a public hearing and adopted the Tax Equity and Financial Responsibility Act resolution approving the issuance of tax-exempt obligations by the California Municipal Finance Authority in an aggregate amount not to exceed $35 million.
