The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, August 24, 2021:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Proclaimed August 2021 as Gastroparesis Awareness Month.
- Adopted a resolution authorizing the City Manager and designees as approved agents to file applications to the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services to obtain financial assistance relating to disasters.
- Awarded a construction contract to Foster Construction for the Shangri-La Slope Restoration Project in a total amount not to exceed $110,000.
- Conducted a public hearing and adopted a Tax Equity and Financial Responsibility Act resolution for the benefit of the California Institute of the Arts, approving the issuance of tax-exempt obligations by the California Municipal Finance Authority in a total amount not to exceed $40 million.
- Approved the appointment of Don Cruikshank to fill one unscheduled vacancy on the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission.
- Appointed Councilwoman Marsha McLean as the City’s voting delegate for the 2021 League of California Cities Annual Conference.
- Appointed Councilmember Jason Gibbs as voting delegate and designated the City Manager, Clerk and Contract Services Manager and Purchasing and Risk Administrator as the alternate voting delegates to the California Joint Powers Authority Board of Directors.
