The following is the recap from the City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022:

Highlights of action taken include:

  • Awarded a contract to United Safety and Survivability Corporation for the purchase and installation of UV air disinfection systems on the City’s transit fleet for a total amount not to exceed $456,121.
  • Approved two, three-year, agreements with the Santa Clarita Community College District, for the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons, and the Newhall School District, for the Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts.
  • Conducted a public hearing and introduced and passed to a second reading an ordinance for the Old Town Newhall Specific Plan Update.
  • Approved a resolution to support the recall of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
  • Introduced and passed to a second reading an ordinance to amend Chapter 11.37, related to sidewalk vendors, and Chapter 14.02, related to parks and public places, of the City’s Municipal Code.
