The following is a recap of the City Council meeting on May 14, 2024:
Highlights of action taken include:
- Recognized the Saugus High School Cheer Teams for winning multiple awards at the 2024 National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida, and the USA Spirit Nationals in Anaheim.
- Recognized the renewal of the City of Santa Clarita as a Silver-Level Bicycle Friendly Community by the League of American Bicyclists.
- Conducted a public hearing and adopted a resolution adjusting the Consolidated Fire Protection District developer fee from $1.5499 per square foot to $1.6176 per square foot.
- Conducted a public hearing and approved the 2024-28 Consolidated Plan and the 2024-25 Annual Action Plan for the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Act Programs.
- Approved the contract renewal with the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control for animal care and control services.
- Adjourned the meeting in-memoriam of Guy Frank Defrisco.
